Investigative Report Reveals Iranian Regime's Business Operations in Germany Despite Sanctions

Amid the stringent economic and financial sanctions imposed on Iran, new reports reveal that the Iranian regime is engaging in secretive commercial practices in Germany, raising questions about the effectiveness of these sanctions. Iranian journalist Fariborz Kalantari, currently living in exile due to persecution in Iran, has exposed the involvement of Iranian businessmen in trade activities in Germany, despite the international restrictions in place.

Among the prominent figures highlighted by Kalantari is businessman Ali Akbar Ansari, who owns a range of properties in Germany, including the "Piro" commercial complex and luxurious Hilton hotels in Frankfurt. Although Ansari denies any connections to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps or Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, several reports indicate close ties between him and the Iranian regime.

Journalist Kalantari spoke about threats he received due to his critical reports, including a voice message threatening him with abduction and delivery to the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. These threats reflect the significant risks faced by journalists who expose the corruption of the Iranian elite.

As for Ansari, British authorities placed him on the sanctions list in 2025 for financially supporting the Revolutionary Guard, which indicates his involvement in the Iranian regime's networks. However, Ansari's lawyer denies any financial links to the Revolutionary Guard and expressed his intention to challenge his inclusion on the sanctions list.
